Your sustainable Bio Hotel partner

Out of conviction, we compare our daily thoughts and actions with possible consequences for people, animals and the environment.

Our philosophy

Around 140 permanent staff put their dedication and skills into Land Gut Höhne delivering the hospitality to which we are so committed. Our passion is being there for our guests, whoever they may be, 24 hours day, 365 days a year. What sets our philosophy apart is quite simple: We want to open this special place to people who interact with respect, and satisfy their basic needs for company and a stimulating exchange of ideas in front of a warming fire with a full belly and a drink in the hand.

Our history

… in time lapse: First came the Neanderthals. Millennia later, Gutshof Groß Höhnen appeared in 1750 on maps of the town of Medamana. The Reucher family have been the owners since 1970. In many details, beauty from this history has been brought back to life today.

Social engagement

Holistic thinking involves both the person and the environment. We support social projects in the neighbourhood, in the region and one in Africa. For example, we entrust the care of our gardens to the team from the Mettmann Disabled Workshop.

The human is the center of attention

Behind every idea there is a person. To get the idea, it helps to get to know this person. We value personal contact and continuous exchange with our partners.

Land Gut Höhne likes to demonstrate its responsibility towards its employees by means of an internal company health, pension and group health insurance, offering daily courses in stress management, life coaching, favourable conditions for employees, and so on. The fair and respectful interaction with the small partner businesses in the region is part and parcel of our conviction that everyone is co-responsible for the people who contribute to doing good.

For several years now, the management, together with the whole Land Gut Höhne team, has supported the building of a hospital in Prampram, Ghana. The foundation stone ceremony took place last year. Through the Nkabom – ein Krankenhaus in Ghana association, the self-help charity promotes long-term basic health care for the local community. The takings from our company flea-markets, which come about through donations from employees, go entirely to the Nkabom association.

Our partner businesses

A sustainable and holistic approach also considers the transport conditions and the suppliers themselves. It is a special pleasure to work together with the people behind these businesses, who prescribe to the same values as us.
